Food & Beverage Plastic Liners

We offer UHMW plastic liner solutions specifically designed to address the rigorous demands of food and beverage processing environments. These engineered plastics provide superior alternatives to traditional materials, enhancing operational efficiency, safety, and compliance.

Key Advantages

Utilizing advanced plastics in the food and beverage sector offers numerous benefits:

  • Regulatory Compliance: Specific formulations of engineered plastics meet stringent industry standards, including FDA, USDA, 3-A Dairy, and NSF compliance, ensuring safe use in direct food contact areas.

  • Enhanced Wear Life and Durability: These materials offer increased wear life compared to traditional metals, effectively resisting premature wear due to rust, chemical wash-downs, and abrasive contact. They also work seamlessly with soft metals like stainless steel and aluminum, eliminating galling and wear on mating parts.

  • Chemical and Corrosion Resistance: Engineered plastics provide broad chemical resistance, preventing corrosion or degradation when processing products like citrus, and remaining unaffected by the harsh cleaners typical of Clean-in-Place (CIP) systems.

  • Dimensional Stability: With low moisture absorption and thermal stability, these polymers maintain integrity and tight tolerances, critical for equipment operating at high temperatures, high speeds, or under precise conditions.

  • Contamination Control and Detectability: To enhance safety and minimize recall risks, advanced materials are available in standard blue colors for easy visual detection of foreign matter. Furthermore, innovations include X-ray detectable, metal detectable, and even materials with all three detection capabilities (visual, metal, and X-ray), ensuring no unwanted materials compromise the final product.

  • Improved Efficiency and Reduced Maintenance: Non-conductive and self-lubricating properties reduce friction, leading to smoother machinery operation, less wear and tear on components, and reduced maintenance costs. Components are also easy to clean, contributing to a more hygienic processing environment.

Liner Applications

The versatility of these advanced polymer solutions makes them ideal for a wide array of applications in food and beverage processing and packaging equipment:

  • Processing and Packaging Equipment: Components like bearings, bushings, seals, slides, scrubbers, housings, tanks, valves, washers, wear plates, pistons, thrust washers, rollers, mixer components, and funnels are optimized for performance and longevity.

  • Material Handling: UHMW wearstrip offers superior protection for rails, chains, and other moving machinery, while lightweight plastic components are ideal for high-speed production lines, causing significantly less wear on mating parts and food packaging.

  • Fluid Handling: High-performance flexible tubing can withstand extreme temperatures and is robust enough for Clean-in-Place and Steam-in-Place cleaning and sterilization systems.

  • Environmental Control: PVC strip doors and partitions help save energy and reduce clean-up costs, maintaining controlled environments.

  • Machine Safety and Visibility: Transparent plastics, such as clear acrylic guards, can replace steel guards on conveyor lines, providing operators with a clear view of machines during operation while being lighter and more cost-effective.

  • Specialized Components: Includes feed screws, sprockets, pillow blocks, wheels, rail guides, star wheels, mixer liners, chain guides, bin liners, filler nozzles, timing feed screws, gravity chutes, contact surfaces, cutting boards, stir paddles, locators, scrapers, pulleys, sheaves, carton guides, and refrigeration doors.

Liner Products

We’ll help you find the right material for your project or material flow needs.

  • Limitless Lining - TIVAR Installation

TIVAR® 88 offers excellent resistance to wear for situations where abrasion is happening. It is a glass filled UHMW-PE mater that is cross linked for enhanced wear.

  • Limitless Lining - TIVAR Installation

TIVAR® 88-2 allows for material to easily glide through. It has the lowest coefficient of friction (C.O.F.) of .08 per QTM test method 55007.

  • Limitless Lining - TIVAR Installation

TIVAR® 88 ESD has anti-static properties to prevent the build up of electrical charges due to dusty materials. It is glass-filled cross-linked ESD grade which allows for low moisture absorption and is static dissipative.

  • Limitless Lining - TIVAR Installation

TIVAR® 88-2 ESD has anti-static properties to prevent the build up of electrical charges due to dusty materials. It is a silicone oil filled UHMW-PE which allows for low moisture absorption and is static dissipative.

  • Limitless Lining - TIVAR Installation

TIVAR® DrySlide is made with an internal lubricant to help lower the surface friction with movement of materials without the oily build up.
