Key Advantages

Using performance UHMW TIVAR liners in the concrete industry offers a multitude of advantages:

  • Exceptional Durability and Wear Resistance: UHMW TIVAR are designed to endure the abrasive and harsh conditions inherent in concrete production, offering superior resistance to impact, wear, and corrosion. This translates to extended equipment lifespan, reduced need for frequent replacements, and minimized downtime in high-stress areas like aggregate batchers, bulk material hoppers, Asphalt bins, RAP bins, and more.

  • Reduced Friction and Material Buildup: Many UHMW Liners are self-lubricating, significantly reducing friction helping flowability. This not only minimizes wear on moving parts but also prevents material buildup and sticking issues ensuring smoother flow of aggregates, sand, and cement.

  • Lighter Weight and Improved Efficiency: UHMW liners are considerably lighter than their metal counterparts, which can reduce the structural load on equipment and potentially improve energy efficiency for conveyors and other moving parts.

  • Corrosion and Chemical Resistance: Unlike metals, UHMW are impervious to corrosion from moisture, cement, and various admixtures, ensuring reliable performance in challenging environments.

  • Enhanced Safety: The non-sparking properties of certain UHMW contribute to a safer operational environment, particularly around flammable materials or in areas where sparks could pose a hazard. Eliminate the need to enter confined spaces to clean out or knock down materials that are sticking, ratholing or arching.

Liner Applications

The broad utility of these advanced UHMW solutions spans various critical areas within concrete production:

  • Aggregate Batchers and Bins: UHMW liners and components prevent material hang-ups, improve flow, and protect the batcher and bin structures from abrasive wear, leading to more accurate and efficient material handling.

  • Aggregate Conveyors: Components like rollers, idlers, and conveyor belt scrapers made from performance polymers offer superior wear resistance, reduce noise, and extend the life of the conveyor system by minimizing friction and preventing material carry-back.

  • Cement Silos: UHMW TIVAR liners within cement silos can prevent bridging, ratholing, and arching to ensure smooth discharge of cement, reducing operational disruptions and maintenance needs. This will help with the hassle of scales not resetting causing downtime.

  • Concrete Trucks: Wear pads, chute liners, and other components on concrete mixer trucks benefit from the impact and abrasion resistance of UHMW TIVAR, extending the life of these parts and maintaining efficient operation.

  • General Components: Common UHMW TIVAR products include liners, wear strips, bushings, bearings, and rollers, all tailored to provide robust and reliable performance in the demanding concrete industry.

Liner Products

We’ll help you find the right material for your project or material flow needs.

  • Limitless Lining - TIVAR Installation

TIVAR® 88 offers excellent resistance to wear for situations where abrasion is happening. It is a glass filled UHMW-PE mater that is cross linked for enhanced wear.

  • Limitless Lining - TIVAR Installation

TIVAR® 88-2 allows for material to easily glide through. It has the lowest coefficient of friction (C.O.F.) of .08 per QTM test method 55007.

  • Limitless Lining - TIVAR Installation

TIVAR® 88 ESD has anti-static properties to prevent the build up of electrical charges due to dusty materials. It is glass-filled cross-linked ESD grade which allows for low moisture absorption and is static dissipative.

  • Limitless Lining - TIVAR Installation

TIVAR® 88-2 ESD has anti-static properties to prevent the build up of electrical charges due to dusty materials. It is a silicone oil filled UHMW-PE which allows for low moisture absorption and is static dissipative.

  • Limitless Lining - TIVAR Installation

TIVAR® DrySlide is made with an internal lubricant to help lower the surface friction with movement of materials without the oily build up.
